In IT Services(aka Managed Services, Managed Service Provider (MSP)) our IT-in-a-Box™ solution uses the latest in virtualization technology to deliver reliable and highly scalable solutions.
Technology
SCI Canada offers technology from Dell, Everest, Sutus, Talkswitch, BabyTel and others. We are are Certified Dell Reseller. We offer VoIP solutions and telephone systems.
Software
We design and build custom software solutions for businesses of all sizes. We also offer off the shelf Vendor Managed Inventory(VMI), Estimating Software for the converting industry and our Work Flow software is currently under construction. We partner with OpenBravo and offer OpenBravo ERP and POS systems.
Supply Chain
SCI Canada is strong in the supply chain area, many of our projects are supply chain focussed extracting the value you should expect from your current processes and systems. SCI Canada's mission is to help businesses improve operational efficiency and decrease total costs by discovering, designing and implementing targeted business solutions. We offer Software, Consulting and IT Service solutions that focus on your existing processes and systems to extract the value you had originally intended those systems to provide. We are your IT department and take full responsibility for providing outstanding IT support to your employees.
Enterprise Open Source
Not all software is created equal and that is no different in the open source world. All software is in a lifecycle - just like products. SCI Canada only uses and supports opensource software that has the follwing criteria, that we believe makes it Enterprise Ready:
- The software must be of high quality, reliable, scalable.
- There must be enough usage of the software to guarantee survival of the technology for the foreseeable time
- The software must be well documented
- There must be a vibrant community of a significant size behind the software
- The community (or company) governance is transparent and state-of-the-art methodologies, approaches and principles
- There should be at least some market for professional support and integration services around the project
- The software is written in a programming language and using components and frameworks that are long term viable
- The license model applied is compatible with Enterprise usage and allows for enough freedom to not restrict the Enterprise in its development and business strategies
- The functionality and features must be good enough to meet Enterprise standards. This includes security features, user experience and everything else you expect from software.
These criteria are representing quite a high bar and in reality the products we have chosen fit in a continuum, but all are near or at the top of their class.
